The Internet T1 Line Provider Solution

January 28th, 2010

The internet and T1 line providers work together in providing seamless connectivity for many companies. This connection enables faster speeds of sending and receiving internet service, as well as phone lines capable of being switched from phone lines to data lines and vice verse.

Any company that has at least 500 employees can benefit from a T1. It is dedicated to your company’s personal communication needs, versus sharing phone lines with other commercial businesses. A provider partners with a telephone company such as Qwest, or MCI. Whichever jurisdiction the company needing service is in, will be the deciding factor of which telephone company will maintain the T1.

There are different types of T1’s, just like there are different company needs. If a company only has phone lines, without internet service, they would only need a voice T1. If they used long distance more than local calls, they would choose a long distance voice over a local voice, as it would be the most cost effective in lowering long distance rates, but at the same time raising local rates.

The same holds true if the company used more local calls than long distance, the rates for long distance would be higher, but, the local calls would be free. Sounds twisted, but they do make a profit. Companies really save when they use both phone and internet service. The T1 that is best is the Integrated T1.

It has the capacity to be switched from a phone line or data line according to business needs. With twenty-four lines, all could be used for internet, or phone, with any variation of either. For example, two lines can be for phone, and the other twenty-two for internet. This would also result in a very fast speed, as the more lines used for internet, automatically increases the speed by doubling it per line used.

Carriers are companies that specialize in communication. Their customers are the companies like hotel chains, etc… Who depend on communicating with a wide audience quickly and reliably, in making reservations, either by phone or online. Busy phones or websites are not very cost effective for these types of businesses.

The customers of T1 providers are “carriers.” T1 companies are AT&T, Bellsouth, Speakeasy, and New Edge Networks. There are many more providers keeping the internet highways and phone lines running fast and smooth. It is another advance in technology making it easier and more convenient for companies to thrive.

T1’s can be used for whatever purpose a company deems. Providers or carriers really are not concerned with how they are used. Carriers will help the company get set up with the T1 provider, and the T1 provider will maintain the lines efficiently. For any problems, both the carrier and provider will troubleshoot for a remedy.

Internet and T1 line providers are all about connectivity and communication. They work hand in hand to provide optimum service to everyone who uses a phone or computer in accessing the internet. Companies are saving money while reaching a lot more customers with their services by getting a T1.

How to Install VoIP Internet Phone Service in Your Home

January 25th, 2010

Did you know that internet phone service is so easy to install, that literally “anyone” can do it? Many people shy away from getting VoIP service because they think they are not “technical” enough to install it themselves. Nothing could be further from the truth! If you can look at pictures and follow a few simple instructions, you can install VoIP internet phone service and take advantage of the tremendous cost savings associated with this great technology!

VoIP phone service looks and feels just like traditional “land line” phone service. The difference is that instead of using the telephone company’s wires, your calls are routed over the internet. If you have broadband (high speed) internet service, you can use internet phone service.

Internet phone service costs only a fraction of what regular phone service costs, which is why millions of people have already made the switch. Most VoIP plans provide you with unlimited local and long distance calling within the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico for less than $25 a month. Some VoIP providers offer an annual “prepaid” plan that costs around $199 a year – this is the best value for the money. Most VoIP providers give you tons of free calling features like call waiting, call forwarding, caller ID, voicemail and more. Most people who switch to VoIP save an average of $500 a year on their phone bill.

How to Install VoIP Internet Phone Service

Once you have decided on a VoIP service provider (there are many to choose from), sign up for service on their website. In a week or so, you will receive a VoIP adapter (also known as an ATA) in the mail. This is the device that serves as the “brains” of your internet phone system.

When your VoIP adapter arrives, follow the easy instructions to attach it to your broadband modem/router as well as to your telephone and computer. There are no tools required, and there is no software to install. You may need a flashlight to see all the connection ports, especially if your computer and modem are located underneath a desk (as mine is).

After the cable connections are made, dial the special “activation” phone number that came with your VoIP adapter. You will need to enter an activation code, which was probably sent to you via email when you signed up for the service. Once this process is complete, you are ready to start using your VoIP phone!

How to Use Multiple Phones with Your VoIP Service

Since your VoIP adapter is designed to connect to one telephone only, an easy way to use internet phone service on all the phones in your house is to use a cordless expandable phone system. Buy a system that includes the total number of phones you want, and attach the base phone to your VoIP adapter. Then place the cordless handsets anywhere in the house you want. Since internet phone service does not rely on telephone wires, you don’t need to plug the phones into wall phone jacks. All that is required is an electrical outlet to supply power to the cordless expansion phones!

How to Set Up Features on your Internet Phone Service

VoIP typically comes with a ton of free features that you can turn on or off as you wish. The easiest way to manage the way your phone works is to go to your VoIP provider’s website and logon to your account. You will then have access to every feature available with your service. You can turn on caller ID, activate voicemail to email functionality, block international calling, etc… You can manage every aspect of your phone service from the web when you have VoIP service. You can also manage features from your VoIP phone by following the instructions that came with your VoIP adapter.

Keeping Your E911 Address Updated

A really important thing to remember is that VoIP uses a system called E911 for emergency calls. E911 lets emergency operators know your physical location. This information is obtained from the address you have on record at your VoIP provider. In order for E911 to accurately reflect your address, you need to be sure to update it using online account management if you move.

VoIP phone service is quick and easy to install, and the features are easily managed using the online account management access tools. Once you have your VoIP service up and running, wait a week or so before disconnecting your land line phone service. You want to make sure you are comfortable with the VoIP service and that the call quality is acceptable. If you have a problem with voice quality, ask your internet service provider to check your broadband connection. Most VoIP quality issues are related to the internet connection.

Best Bundles For Phone, TV, and Internet Service

December 27th, 2009

Your search for the best bundled packages for phone, TV, and Internet has landed you here, but there is a problem. Your search term is too broad. You’ll never find the best bundles this way, because services available where you live will be different than those available elsewhere. That being said, how can you find the best bundles if nobody has the same service providers?

Find bundles where you live

I have two questions for you. Who is the major phone company where you live? Who is the major cable company where you live? If you know the answer to these two question, and I’m sure you do, you’re one step closer to locating your best bundled service. You’ll likely, be able to get bundled services through one of these providers, and if they offer bundled packages you’ll most likely be able to get phone, TV, and high speed Internet on the same bill, and for a discount.

Phone company bundles

If you can get service from a telephone company, you’ll have more choices than with a cable provider, but phone companies are also notorious for making things confusing. This is not intentional, it’s just what has happened in an effort to provide you with more choice. With these bundles there may be a standard bundle, with home phone, cell phone, satellite TV, and high speed DSL, and also a fiber optic bundle option.

Fiber optic bundles

These are offered by the phone company, but it’s fairly new and not available everywhere even if that provider offers standard services where you live. Fiber optic packages are very different from the standard bundles. Fiber optic TV quality rivals that of the best cable TV service, and fiber optic internet service allows for the fastest upload, and download speeds available for home use. Home phone service provided by a fiber optic package is generally digital, and allows for unlimited local and long distance calling at cheaper prices than that of landline.

Cable company bundles

Just like with bundles from a phone company, you can get telephone service, high speed Internet service, and digital TV service all on one bill from a cable provider at a discount for bundling those services. One thing cable providers do not, and will not offer for some time that phone companies do is cell phone service. There are some cable operators looking into this, but as it stands today it’s just not going to happen, so if you must have cellular service as part of your bundle you’ll need to go with a phone company.

How to get the best bundle

I hate to break it to you, but you’re just going to have to do your homework on this one. There is no cookie cutter solution to finding the best bundled packages, and there never will be unless one day there is only one provider servicing the entire country, Furthermore, what’s important to you, isn’t necessarily important to the next person, so when comparing packages take your time.
